Senior Offshore Marine Supervisor
Location: Offshore Fields, UAE
Basic Function:
• Monitor and control marine traffic in respective field sector for the purpose of safe navigation and protection of oilfield environment.
• To improve Company HSE performance with proper control and monitoring the marine traffic in the ZAKUM field through available means of vessels tracking system and implement established procedures and OPCO standards.
Work Performed:
• Operate vessel tracking software and communicate with respective parties including MCC, Marine Units, Ships masters, Company Offshore Representative, field radio room, the weather forecasters and when required, the emergency services. (ERC)
• To communicate with marine units traffic (vessels/barges, etc.) in accordance with the Company Fields information service procedures on navigational assistance and traffic management by means of radio communication facilities provided.
• To transmit navigational information to aid the vessels or barges n difficult navigational or meteorological circumstances or in case of defects or deficiencies to avoid incidents.
• Operating equipment for communications, records and data analysis for establishment of a traffic image.
• Continuous surveillance and monitoring of marine units in the Company field and surrounded areas, for the purpose of safe navigation and protection of the environment.
• Monitor offshore weather condition (forecast), weather warning broadcast and ensures it is forwarded to marine spreads operating for Company, especially during marginal weather.
• To effectively monitor anchorage control and provide traffic guidance for safe movement of Marine Units in the field.
• To organize vessel traffic within the Authority's area of jurisdiction in accordance with planned movements and field traffic regulations & procedures.
• Monitor marine traffic in the field and coordinate the movement and routing of vessels, barges and rigs to ensure compliance with OPCO SIMOs and International Regulations.
• Respond as necessary to emergency situations such as distress, collision, firefighting, marine pollution, evacuation & any other circumstances.
• Report all incidents and violation of marine regulations, damages to mooring facilities and navigation aids. I) Logging all marine spread entering & departing the field.
• Guide, train and motivate team members (such as developees) to work to their best potential and perform effectively together as a team.
• Participate in offshore HSE drills and exercises of Rigs, Barges, ACPT, Company and onboard Marine Units as necessary.
• Comply and encourage others to comply with Company HSE expectations, policy, also local and international HSE standards to achieve zero LTI and reduce the Marine Incidents.
Minimum Requirements:
• A minimum of 2nd Mate Foreign Going Certificate of Competency.
• A minimum of one (1) year sea service as Watchkeeping on ocean going ships.
• Current Valid VTS Certificate and VTS Certification Log.
• A valid GMDSS Certification.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, Arabic language as advantage.
