Baggage Duty Manager
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Oversee and control airport operations to provide prompt intervention and resolution in case of issues, delays or disruptions, ensuring safe, secure and on time running of operations.
Basic Function:
Policies and Procedures:
•
Implement relevant policies, processes and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
Day-to-Day Operations:
• Supervise standard and complex day-to-day operations to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and in compliance with established standards and procedures.
People Development:
•
Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
•
Comply with all relevant safety, security, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Work Performed:
• Provide day to day direction and guidance to ensure consistent, safe, reliable delivery of airport operations and services.
• Manage recurrent and extraordinary operational issues to ensure timely service recovery and compliance with regulations and internal procedures.
• Create and monitor working shifts to ensure 24/7 staff availability and proper allocation of resources according with safety/quality standards and regulations.
• Manage and monitor the effective equipment to ensure compliance with work instructions and safety procedures.
• Liaise with relevant departments and customer service operators to timely solve guest issues and minimize impacts on passengers.
• Document and report on accident investigations to ensure root causes are properly identified and recommendations are provided according to Corporate safety and quality instructions.
• Conduct briefing and de-briefing sessions on operational activities to identify and provide advise on areas of improvement.
• Manage daily tasks allocation to ensure activities are properly assigned to staff according to licenses/certifications requirements.
• Create and publish operational instructions and reports to support knowledge exchange practices and reduce disruptions risks.
• Report on daily tasks and overall performance to ensure accurate and timely tracking of activities in compliance with standards and procedures.
• Coach, guide and provide informal/formal feedback to the staff to support skills development and improve service.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum High School certification.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in relevant field.
• Computer skills - Proficient.
• Policies, Procedures & Work Methods - Advanced.
• Report Writing skills - Advanced.
