IT Security Officer (Operations)
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Basic Function:
• Initiate, plan, & execute security related projects in addition to supervision of the day to day security operations tasks to support Company’s Security Infrastructure and report performance and findings to ITD management. This senior role will also overlook the activities of other Security Officers (Operations) positions.
Work Performed:
• Initiate, Plan & execute security projects and participate in evaluating new security products and technologies.
• Analyze and assess security incidents that occur to Company assets and escalate incidents as per predefined incident plan.
• Assess potential risks and vulnerabilities in the network by establishing status quo for the networks and recognizing any deviations in order to provide actionable recommendations in the event of malicious activity.
• Works with internal Network & Security team to solve security related incidents and problems in a timely and accurate manner to prevent malware from coming into the environment.
• Implement and abide by the approved Information Security process, policies and procedures which are attuned with standards and industry best practices.
• Develops and executes corrective action plans and remediation plans when issues are identified in order to mitigate the risk of exploitation.
• Ensures compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental ISO standards across all areas of Company and ensures companywide commitment to the above standards.
• Performs other similar or related activities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.
• Masters in Information Security is preferred.
• Minimum 5- 7 years’ experience in multiple domains of Security &Network Security.
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment with tight deadlines.
• Ability to understand the varied scopes of jobs and corresponding skills / qualifications / experience required for the job.
• Ability to demonstrate and understand potential and emerging information security threats, vulnerabilities, and control techniques and communicate this information to appropriate team members throughout the Company on a timely basis.
• Professional Security certifications like (CISSP, CEH, CHFI, CISM, CESA etc.)
• Extensive technical expertise in these Information security domains: Security Architecture and Design, Operations Security, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, Legal, Regulations, Investigations, Compliance & Information Security Governance and Risk Management.
• Experience in architecting and integrating security solutions including devices, networks and systems necessary to prevent, detect and respond to security threats.
• Expert knowledge of a wide range of current network security technologies such as firewalls, proxies, network and host-based intrusion prevention, DLP, vulnerability assessment tools, security information/event management, endpoint security, anti-virus/anti-malware, etc.
• Familiarity with security intelligence gathering, threat identification and attribution.
• Development/scripting experience: Python and/or PowerShell is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Expert knowledge of Information Security best practices.
