Project Consultant (Civil)
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Basic Function:
The Project Engineer - Civil (AUH) shall prepare bidding documents, evaluate bids, carryout clarifications, conduct meetings, review civil engineering/structural/architectural designs, drawings, etc., Supervise civil construction works, carry out checks of construction work before acceptance and other related activities in civil engineering works (but not limited to) of future and ongoing projects, by providing cost effective, timely and efficient support, while ensuring the safety and in accordance with Company’s policies and procedures.
Work Performed:
• Prepare tender document, evaluate bids, carryout technical clarifications, and arrange kick-off meetings related to the civil engineering works.
• Review civil/structural/architectural designs and drawings.
• Plan work with Assistant Leader - Project (AUH), analyze priority of activities and ensure timely completion of tasks as per defined procedures & standards.
• Manage, monitor and interpret the contract and design documents.
• Monitor and review progress of each on-going Jobs related to civil engineering discipline (but not limited to), schedules, daily/weekly/monthly plans and liaise with Foremen, Contractor Staff and other relevant Authorities providing support and advice in the proper project execution within the set procedures, specifications and allocated budgets.
• Monitor the quality of civil engineering material, equipment and technical skills deployed in and installation services provided by Contractors to ensure reliability, integrity and phased acceptance of their work in line with relevant quality standards.
• Conduct regular project review meetings with Contractors to discuss and resolve any technical issues as and when required to ensure completion of contracts in a safe and professional manner.
• Analyze/carry out risk assessments of all work orders and prepare Permit To Work (PTW) in order to ensure effective risk mitigation and completion of tasks as per Company – Quality/HSE procedures.
• Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring construction/installation work while resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and problem may arise.
Minimum Requirements:
• A degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 10 years experiences in major oil/gas projects in similar position or lead/principal Civil Engineer with Engineering Contractor / Consultant organization.
• Good knowledge/experience on local and international legislation related to Fire prevention and protection, including NFPA, BS, Shell, API, JIS Standards.
• Has adequate knowledge of all international codes, standards and other construction practices to be utilised during FEED and EPC Phases of project execution.
• Additional experience with Middle East projects will be distinctly preferable.
• Experience of EPC company organization(not only Engineering company).
• Experience of Project Management Consultancy organization.
• Knowledge of calculator for civil / structural.
• Knowledge of ADNOC CoP.
