Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

Location: Ruwais, UAE

Basic Function:

• To execute, coordinate and advise on all activities related to the field of Instrumentation and Control Engineering discipline in all the operating sites as well as projects handled within Company.

Work Performed:

• To provide technical support to Major as well as Technical Projects for review of design documents produced by FEED consultants, EPC contractors while ensuring uniformity, standardisation and compliance to company standards and. to develop conceptual studies, statement of requirements for new projects.

• Participate during project reviews like Hazop, SIL, design workshops. Provide technical expertise in consultation with Principal Engineer to evaluate project recommendations on key design issues.

• To review/approve the bid evaluation for key systems for instrumentation and control in close coordination with the PMC engineer.

• To develop conceptual studies, statement of requirements for new projects.

• To provide technical expertise to the operating divisions in the field of Instrumentation and Control Engineering on non-routine technical matters, including the engineering services for Capital, EOM and other upgrade projects.

• To carry out Investigation studies on the chronic problems associated with equipment and instrument failures and follow-up with vendors/suppliers and to constantly review and evaluate the effectiveness of the existing systems for obsolescence, spares availability, vendor support and to keep abreast of the new developments, in order to analyze various alternatives providing optimum solutions.

• To manage and coordinate the implementation of assigned projects, including scope of work, tendering specifications, Technical evaluation, engineering, installation, commissioning and to monitor and control their execution to meet the budget & schedule targets.

• To provide inputs to Principal Engineer in establishing maintenance policies, preventive and shutdown maintenance practices, development of vendor support and administration of maintenance agreements/contracts.

• To prepare technical notes, specification change requests for necessary update of company design specifications and standards as per the international standards and industry practices.

• To witness Factory and Site Acceptance Tests as required during the project phase.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Instrument & Control or Electronics Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.

• 8 or more years of relevant experience in the maintenance of Instrument & Control system within a large industrial organization, preferably in the oil and Gas industries.
