Senior Drilling Engineer (Completion & Well Testing)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Basic Function:

• The purpose of the Senior Completions and Testing Engineer is to provide engineering support for the completion and testing activities for the organization and also liaise with the Drilling, and Sub-surface groups. This role will work closely with the other divisions to make sure completions and testing engineering requirements are met.

Worked Performed:

• Provide advanced completions engineering and well testing expertise in delivering Engineering Design, Operational Reviews to successfully achieve well objectives.

• Prepare completion related AFE, BoD, well completion and testing program and instructions.

• Develop technical requirements for completions and well test service tenders, e.g. OCTG, wellhead, etc. and participate procurement plans.

• Proficient in using engineering software to calculate tubing movement, packer's depth, tubing sizes.

• Prepare and complete the completions and well test program. Work closely with other relevant team members to ensure that the program is based on all available geological, reservoir and drilling information from nearby wells. The program includes but is not limited to:

- Application of standard operations procedures, best practices and lessons learnt.

- Drilling rig mobilization, demobilization, rig orientation diagram.

- Progress time-depth and cost depth curves for the completion and testing phase.

- Abandonment/Suspension program (if applicable)

• Provide rig site technical assistance to Drilling Supervisors during critical completions and well test operations.

• Trouble-shooting for operational and technical well problems.

• Conduct studies on availability and utilization of latest technology and operational procedures.

• Prepare Lessons Learnt register and the end of well report.

• Closely monitor daily completion/well test operations and initiate the processes of MOC when needs are identified for these.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other Engineering Sciences.

• 10+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry with at least 7 years in the Completion Engineering and/or Operations and 5-year experience in offshore drilling and completions activities.

• Offshore experience desired.

• Familiar with sour gas well operations.

• Fluency in English both spoken and written

• Computer Literacy and report writing skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software.

• Able to work well in a multicultural team and be highly motivated, strong customer focus, effective team player, discipline, dynamic with good personality.
